Re: General August Weather
18 degrees for the lunchtime run round Hagley. Unless something drastic happens in the next couple of weeks 2018 will be recalled as the year without a winter for round here

Would be better when the new Otago Rain Radar becomes established in 2020.

Well done Thunder081.
Can see the odd flash to the south of here. Radar shows storm over Pukekohe area.

Re: General August Weather
Interesting how straight that bolt of lightning.
There were a lot of flashes over the mountains at about 7.00pm last night, talking with a fella who's mate live east of Greymouth, he said they had a lot of lightning but very little rain, that would be uncommon for the West Coast i would think

Re: General August Weather
We had quite a bit strong amplitide lightning this morning around 6am in Hamilton, the frontal passage seemed to be somewhat elevated.

Re: General August Weather
Indeed, it has been looking unstable all afternoon from Amberley and now from town. The next week doesn’t look all that stable either.

Re: General August Weather
Yes. I noticed that too, seems to be mostly out to sea.
Must be a low out there as there is some rotation in the rainfall.
9mm to 4:30pm so far with today'srainfall.
I too thought I heard a long rumble of thunder earlier on this afternoon but assumed it was a truck and trailor unit going past down the road.
