The Met Service is contradicting itself with it's forecasts for Central Otago

This is for tomorrow:
Rural:
Rain, falling as snow above 600 metres in the morning, easing to a few showers early evening, then clearing at night. Southerlies gradually dying out.

Alexandra:
Rain, easing to fine spells and the odd shower in the morning. Light winds.

We got the heat yesterday, more so after 4pm, but after the southerly came through early this morning , the temperature dropped away to 10C at 3pm. Interesting to see Kaikoura at 30C and the Hawkes Bay area with people eating ice-creams whilst we were huddled around the fire 8-o
Constant rain here this afternoon with substantial falls and hardly any wind.

It was definitely hot, and not too windy. Beautiful day up there. Now 11C back home in Chch but not unpleasant, looks like the rain is not far off.

The cells are low topped but very cold air, good for IC lightning.

So far November weather not great in Auckland but the week ahead looking sunnier.

Turned out quite damp here today, drizzly/showery on and off since 11am in Howick. Light-moderate rain has set in in the last hour

14mm here overnight. Seems the Hadley cell is starting to push further south, changing the weather pattern for the upper NI for the next week or so. Summer not too far away.

Will keep watch today Richard, if storms seem to develop over the plains near the hills it will warrant a chase otherwise will be to hard to chase

Dewpoints are looking good over the eastern South Island on airport data with 10-12C. Very favourable. The seabreeze will push that moisture inland.

Over the North Island Taupo looking good with dp 10C and there is 13C to 14C dp in Waikato.

Of all days i HAVE to go to CHCH and wont be back till 6.00  though that might be able the time things could be starting to get interesting.

Might be worth its own thread considering how wide spread the risk area is i feel.
