My thoughts it might be a very small rain shaft, otherwise I’m out of ideas. IMG_0537.jpg

Nice pic. IMO, given the time of day I would think it's the 'scattering' effect on fine water droplets.

First day of this sequence getting maximum possible heating. A PWS only a block from mine reading 28, must have a broken screen. Mine 24.2. Hamilton Airport 23.7. My handcrafted screen seems to be working quite well then.

I see Invercargill Airport reporting thunder/hail in latest ob.

Warmest spot today according to airport data was Hamilton and Ardmore on 24C.

Yea I got 25.1 today. Was warm!

GFS was on the money today and had no storm risk. EC and UK both showed storms here hence MetService mod risk for here.

I just tipped out 12mm. The airport definitely bore the brunt of the storm.

Check out the rain racer over the north island. I see spots of rain moving in all sorts of different directions. Never seen such chaos on the radar before.

May even get the lawns mowed before the drizzle moves in this evening. :D
