Lucky buggers
Still, a good chance of getting a storm or two here over the next week by the look of the models

Sounds like a decent thunderstorm passing north of Waihi, lots of rumbling coming from the Coromandel Ranges

Looking like some interesting weather possibly this afternoon, lots of showers popping up just to the north. Not expecting hail as it's quite rare here but hopefully will be surprised

5.6 degrees and still heavyish rain. Snowing on peninsula anyone? Not normal for late November, and next week looks potentially stormy too!

I'm in Sydenham and the rain for the last 90 mins has been very impressive, I'd love to know the numbers at the moment but it's definitely pissing down!

Wouldnt surprise me. Looks like sleet out here in rolleston if not very heavy rain!! The rain radar shows what looks like an echo from snow/heavy precip over mid Canterbury.
More evaporative cooling again perhaps?

Was watching that last line form from Otara. Interesting that the line was coming in from the northwest, but I saw lower cloud moving from east to west. Was a fair bit of hail, but only pea sized.

I know.
Constant rain here overnight but eased off a little this morning.
37.1mm from 10pm, last night here. Might be an impressive total for the event when it finally stops raining.

Yes, some great lightning observed at Manakau City, surface flooding and hail as I drove along the southwestern motorway from Mangere to Manakau City, intense rain hail mix.
edit, not a great photo but hail coming down at Manakau, (water on lens).

Just 10mm here today but makes it 88mm for the month so far and 144mm for the last 31 days so very healthy spring total's.
Not sure this helping NIWA's claims of a scorcher November nor a dry one!
Not to mention it's looking very wet for Canterbury this time next week going by the models.
