Freshening NE probably means activity won't make it this side of the city

Looking west from Manurewa. Few rumbles, but no raindrops.

Nice that's quite a downpour! Looks like it has died away significantly as it has moved east. Only a quick 3mm reported at St Heliers... probably even less here

There are heavy showers and isolated storms occurring on the line as it moves east, hit and miss who gets the heaviest rain.
Looking from One Tree Hill earlier.

The storm dumped 22mm in about half an hour here.

Looking like the warmest town in NZ today was Whangarei on 24C.

And Dunedin might be the "boringest" with 12°C ALL day.

A bit like that here with the temeprature on the 14C mark for much of the day, although it did suddenly heat up to 15C on one odd occasion 8-o
I see Hoki nearly up to 26C 8-o <3

A PWS at Paramoremo on the North Shore Auckland recorded 47mm in that convergence line this afternoon. Another few more mm here gives a 2 day total of 33mm. I did a snap shot of all the main models on yesterday’s 23/11 12Z run for my location, for a forecast vs Actual comparison to see who is performing well at the moment. Here was the result

42 hours 1am Saturday to 7pm Sunday on the 23112018 12Z – Actual 33mm

Forecast -
UK 60 to 70mm
EC 50 to 60mm
CMC 40 to 50mm
MS local model 41mm
BoM 30 to 40mm (Access R)
GFS 20 to 25mm
Icon 20 to 25mm

Congrats to the BoM’s Access R model =D>

A good benchmark month for November wetness over much of Canterbury was November 1952 (which was wet over a substantial portion of NZ). An easterly storm 25th-27th caused heavy rain from Wairoa to Kaikoura. Sample Canterbury monthly totals - Timaru Gardens 223mm, Ashburton 257mm, Island Hills 254mm. It was also a very dull month for Canterbury, especially in the south, so not good for farming.
