Constant thunder from that cell that got me and Hamilton.

Now watching east with the next cell and it looks like it has a wall cloud.

Looks like Whanganui is getting hit at the moment, but the rain radar shows the storm spreading to the SE, so you look to be in a good position.

Looking NW->NNW towards Bulls and Feilding, from Palmy. This is probably what Thunder081 is amongst.

From latest radar, looks like possible hail between Bulls and Turakina. That's just a rough guess.

Fantastic phones you fellas.

Not sure if anything could develop here or not, you never know, it's getting much darker to the north.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING
TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST

Issued by MetService at 03:40 pm Sunday 02 December 2018.
Valid until 04:30 pm Sunday 02 December 2018.

This warning affects people in the following local government areas:
HOROWHENUA, MANAWATU and RANGITIKEI.

At 03:30 pm, MetService weather radar detected severe thunderstorms near OHAKEA, TANGIMOANA and SANTOFT.

These severe thunderstorms are moving towards the southwest, and are expected to lie near OFFSHORE MANAWATU and TANGIMOANA at 04:00 pm and near OFFSHORE MANAWATU at 04:30 pm.

These thunderstorms are expected to be accompanied by very heavy rain.

Very heavy rain can cause surface and/or flash flooding about streams, gullies and urban areas, and make driving conditions extremely hazardous.

The Ministry of Civil Defence and Emergency Management advises that as storms approach you should:
- Take shelter, preferably indoors away from windows;
- Avoid sheltering under trees, if outside;
- Move cars under cover or away from trees;
- Secure any loose objects around your property;
- Check that drains and gutters are clear;
- Be ready to slow down or stop, if driving.
During and after the storm, you should also:
- Beware of fallen trees and power lines;
- Avoid streams and drains as you may be swept away in flash flooding.

This warning is due to be updated or lifted by 04:30 pm Sunday 02 December 2018.

I think the Easterly is a bit too strong here in Palmy (E 24km/h gusting to 54 km/h), for any convection enhanced storms to get any closer. From the radar image the storms that were building SE towards Palmy, have started to dissipate.

There has been a stationary cell over waiterimu for over an hour now. That place is a narrow valley with lots of runoff from hills do the the floor. There would be an impressive flash flood there right now.
