Heavy downpours and streets flooded in hawera non stop thunder and lightning since 11.30

I think the northerly is too strong and is going to keep everthing costal today.

Something driving lift to my east. Wonder if it’s the wind rising over the kaimais/coromandel

Multiple areas of convergence (with the black lines) perfect for Northern Waikato as it will get more heating.

Notice the small cumulus to the north of the first line, that will be the next thing to watch...

Hearing thunder here from cells in the west. SW Waikato cells look impressive from here.

We should do, hopefully Aucklands convection left-overs doesnt ruin the dtsh here. The upper NW is a little stronger than forecast.

Some Cu towers going up in the 4 Peaks area but other cloud around blocking the view. :smile:

State highway 1 at lake Taupo should have a great view looking NW across the lake at the leading front of the storm currently over the lake. Looks good on radar

Some distant thunder to SW from a small cell over Manukau Harbour.

Edit. distant thunder more frequent now.
