Certainly a deluge and I suspect the usual areas round here will have flooded after 20mm in half an hour. There was a lot of strong flowing surface water around our place, thankfully on a slope so it all flows away.

91mm for the event here, very decent considering all of the early near misses I had. Widespread 100mm+ for the event through out Auckland's PWS network.

Double Edit: Merry Xmas to all on here! Thanks for all the wisdom, insight, banter, live reports, predictions (fake news? :-k ) and photos that makes this place a great hangout. Extra special big thanks to all the Mods for keeping the place orderly and clean! =D>

Should divert some of the rain to the Atacama - Arica and Iquique have had no rain this year, the latter none since 2015.

Had 51.8mm of rain, here, on Christmas day. Some good CGs hit central Palmy, from a storm system that moved down from the northern Manawatu and lingered from about 3:30pm through to about 6pm.

The sky 'exploded': Napier weather bomb causes severe localised flooding

According to NZ Herald, Napier got a Weather Bomb. Useless NZ Media strike again.
