Re: Frosts 2019
Frost earlier this morning, down to minus 2.3C.
Clouded over this morning coming onto light rain.
The mith that you always get a fine day after a frost,no so this morning.

No significant frost here since early July. Grapevine has first leaf buds already, swear it gets eailier every year.

Re: Frosts 2019
I wonder what Darfield got down to, possibly lower to what they say on TVNZ news for the lows on the ChCh weather segment on the TV weather just before 7pm?

Re: Frosts 2019
Its a bit like those marginal NW days when the airport gets mid 30s and New Brighton struggles to get into the mid 20s.

Re: Frosts 2019
yes John, I find the Darfield temp thing interesting, being high on the top of the Canterbury plains they can be influenced by a katabatic wind, but then Ive worked in that area in years past and have seen really good frosts too.NZ Thunderstorm Soc wrote: ↑Wed 18/09/2019 18:23I wonder what Darfield got down to, possibly lower to what they say on TVNZ news for the lows on the ChCh weather segment on the TV weather just before 7pm?
