New Zealand Tornadoes

we had no tornadoes yet in new for 2019. no spouts. but last year we did had lots of tornadoes reported. hamilton had one.

Been a different weather scenario this summer.
Conditions not looking likely.
There have been a few reported willy-willys or dust-devils.
The last one reported was the Fairton Tornado near Ashburton last November.

last year we did get quite a few. canterbury tornado looked like a us tornado

waterspouts were seen in north auckland day after this canterbury tornado

we had some days where 2 tornadoes hit on the same day. in the april storm last year 2 tornadoes hit. one in taranaki and one in tongario area. august last year bay of plenty and taranaki (new plymouth ) was hit by tornadoes on the same day. other tornadoes reported was hamilton,canterbury any other tornadoes reported other than the ones listed?

Last year was good year for tornadoes being recorded in NZ.

oh yes that ohope tornado did damage i heard. that same day new plymouth had a tornado

a mini tornado hit matamata making a school boy lift into the air. he was ok tho. june or july 2018

october 28 2018 hamlton tornado was quite tall

i think 2018 was a year for tornadoes in new zealand. my cuzin lives in national park and got really scared when that twister hit

It wasn't a "mini" tornado, there's no such thing.
A tornado is a tornado whether it be large or small.
"Mini" is a term that the media uses as opposed to the tornados they get in the USA.
I remember seeing that article on Stuff Interesting.

there was a video of a funnel in that area. thats what sucked up the boy?

Yes, the one at Fairton, just north of Ashburton.
It was beside the State Highway One, so many people saw it.

same with aucland waterspouts in 2012 and the hobsonville tornado 2011 albany tornado and funnel clouds

I remember there being a waterspout in Auckland and there was a boat that drove right through the middle of it and someone on the boat took a video of it but I can't seem to find it
