This PWS probably closest to the hook
https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/ITEAWAMU5
Rain rate did hit 30mm/hr for a while
Have not heard of any damage from down that way.

Re: General July Weather
Four days out and its looking like Sat should see a good rain maker for much of the country, but importantly for dry eastern areas as well. Snow level doesnt look overly low thankfully.

Re: General July Weather
It's starting to look like it may end up being another drier than average month with the incoming high and no significant rainmakers in the long range modelling.

Re: General July Weather
20mm received so far since yesterday morning, with the prospect of another 20mm (possibly more) before this system is finished with us. Much needed rain, given how dry June and July have been. Just looking at my data, the rainfall YTD is only around half of what had been received this same time last year!

One point I have noticed this month is the lack of hard frosts .Grass min has got to -7.5 C once and screen to -2.5C but with the persistent cloud the days of frozen water pipes has not appeared yet

Re: General July Weather
At Orewa Beach, a chilly easterly sprang up around midday/high tide.
Now a shower of rain falling, no wind to speak of, interesting soggy-looking grey clouds moving across from south-west.

Mainly fine for Auckland with morning fog areas, the showers were over N/ NW Auckland.

Like that over the last couple days since the rain, although the sun did shine for a wee while around lunch-time.

Heavy fog here this morning after three clear sunny days. Knew luck had to run out some time. The sun did not break through till 2pm.

Sun broke at close to 4pm here. I hate those all day fog days. Fog already back here. So an hour and a half without fog today.....awesome.

Re: General July Weather
Would anyone be able to assist me in predicting the chance of fog early evening (around 6pm) in Christchurch today. Got a flight out to Wellington and hoping there aren't any complications.
