especially interesting this SSW event :)
We had a great thunderstorm here yesterday afternoon
actually we have had lots here over the last few days (some real good ones at night too, real close lightning and thunder)
the rain can stop now though!! (and I see we have a more typical weather pattern for the next week after today, whew)

:)
I have a bit more spare time now (dare I say it)
I took some photos of a whales mouth CB line a couple of days ago
that day a funnel was spotted in the kaipara
I did see a bit of rotation on this line too

Welcome back Brian!

Eu suggests Dargaville region the best area for a late morning/pm storm today although you can't take models too much on face value.

looks like the low in the tasman is going to 'Roll Over' the top of the South Auckland area
with the dry cold air pushing it up and over, that is to the south of it
we have had enough rain for now

Cooler across Auckland today for sure with the dewpoint a very stable 9C. And looking at obs for Northland dp's are 12C, they were more unstable 13-14C yesterday.
