Re: Third Tasman Sea Low
Just checking the latest ECWMF, it shows this low moving quickly over the SI before a back to a W/NW regime resuming following it.

Quite a wet day here from this low moving across us.
Some red on the radar on the southern part of the canterbury Bight from the rainfall for today according to the Rakaia Radar.

Absolutely hosing down here in Rakaia, heavy rain woke me up and looking at the rain radar on MetService it doesn’t look like easing anytime soon. I’ll post the rain gauge reading in the morning.

It's a fascinating band on the radar. Very heavy rain here in Halswell now after it's meant to have cleared

Fog and light drizzle persisting in central Chch this evening, after cessation of rain late afternoon.
Maybe MetService shouldn't removed the snow warning for the Lindis Pass, as obs for inland high country places show temperature 0-2C with precipation.

8mm here last night and a good fall of snow above 1200m looks like 20cm, sunny and nice day now.
