Rangitoto 11 Nov.jpg
Got a nice couple of positively charged bolts and an intercloud crawler around the Rangitoto volcano and gulf just after 2pm from Northhead.

Unstable skies over the sea west of here this morning, isolated thunderstorm activity occuring over the warm sea, the land is cold after a clear night, see what can happen this morning as the cold trough comes across.

yes quite cold. that was a good downpour with some small hail and thunder which sounded closer than the thunder claps over the last two days.

my summery of this period. was great to hear thunder again after a whole month without thunder.

sunday: a few distant rumbles of thunder/some flashes. only got a few mm of rain as that storm weakened.
monday (yesterday) heard about 2-4 claps of thunder from a storm east of me. no rain from that storm.
tuesday (today) heard a few thunder claps from the isolated storm south of me. got some good downpours some with small hail. today had the most rainfall with rainfall rate getting up to 18.5mm here

Didn't have any thunder here today, all went south. Yesterday it all went east, Sunday it all went west. Saw plenty of bolts over the thread but no direct hits. 15mm all up.

The thunderstorm parameters were particularly good on Sunday, whether we can get a set up like that again before Christmas, fingers crossed.

Only recorded 9.5mm here over the 3 days to yesterday, but yes, doesn't get much better than last Sunday.
Below are Blitzortung's 48 hours to 1am on Monday, plus the next 48 hours to 1am on this morn…
