Some distant rumbles again audible from Amberley. Not often we get two rounds in one day.

Lots of thunder, lightning and heavy rain. Many IC strikes. One at least every minute.
Who put the LED's on the lightning arrestor ?

I can see flashes over the city. Dark clouds here in Manurewa, but no rain yet.

Went to the local reserve with a view over the city at 8pm and gave up soon after, surprised at the lack of lightning. Did become very blustery up there 5 minutes ago though.

Hope not, last decent rainfall was almost 4 weeks ago now. If tomorrow doesn't deliver I'll have to start watering the garden which is very dry now

Re: Possible north & central NZ T-storms & heavy rain - Nov 10-11
Looks epic up there. On landing the lower cloud base at Chch had to be just a few hundred metres, but there’s a dry layer up to about 4000m then thick cloud above that. Incoming heavy rain now, total overnight looks to have increased locally going by the MetService rain charts.
That cb line I posted looked stunning, best flight weather-wise that I’ve done in quite a while.
