Raining hard, and thunder seems to be more east and north of here now.
12.3°C.
! that was a window-rattling crash
scarcely two seconds after the lightning.
Now hail...

i see they have a risk for severe thunderstorms there in the eastern south island with a risk of small tornadoes.since that big dusty tornado touched down north of ashburton.
Correct. We were talking about that yesterday,It was near Fairton.
Looking very bleak to the north of here and I here some sfericals on the wireless. Looks thunderstormic around the Ashburton area.

No chance of anything this far north, blowing a strong NW, but the storm clouds to the south impressive.

Hopeful in Amberley, sunny for most of the morning and the wind felt a bit easterly but I'm not sure about the latter. There was visible development to the south of here, north of the main line of storms.

Starting to look tasty from Hagley Park. Wonder if I'll finish my run dry?

We had a small twister next to my work here in waltham, only have to lift debris in a rotation up in the air and travel before the debris dropped again. Very stormy.
Cheers,

Came through past Ara, some staff and students saw it and got brief video. I however was on the other side of the building thinking it was a good gust front.
Edit: a large branch punched completely through a roof at work.
