Rather sporadic i guess, I live in Halswell Oaklands and had a decent amount of frost on my car

Seeing that it's -4.8C at the airport right now, Lyttelton 1.2C which is low for here.

Beats Chch Aero's previous Sep Tmin record of -4.4C set in 2012 since records began there in 1953.

That’s twice it has beaten it’s all time record after the record fell earlier in the month as well, would be interesting to know if that has ever happened in a month before!

You have had some sharp frosts for Mid-October which equates to mid-April for the UK. The figure of -5°C at Timaru is impressive for a near coastal site.

Hmm… NIWA has recorded 54 screen-frost days for Medbury this year (previous 4 year average is about 59 days).
