Daily ground frost report
Where can I find the current days ground frost report before I bike down the hill? Radio station loves to say it's a frost morning but not the degree. Thanks

I'm not aware of any official real-time ground-frost reports. However, on mornings like this morning where there is no wind to cause mixing, you can generally assume that ground-temps are about 3-4C lower than the reported air-temps.

I used to record ground frosts at our old property in Somerfield in Christchurch, but sadly I broke the thermometer when i was shaking the mercury down, as I had gout in my wrist, it flew out of my hand and hit the nearby wheel-barrow.
$110 of worth of thermometer gone and I haven't bothered since then.
I felt that the ground frost temps were usually about 3C below the air frost recordings from the recordings that I did.
