Yes had a very heavy period of rain from 11am eased to lighter rain now. but still helpful.

yes noticed a big gale like wind as the front bit of the band came through. the rain was near territorial. it was like if it was a gust front? or a squall?
also report powerlines downsth auckland and a tramp in waihi flew away. so a good gale alright. as that front moved in.

Cold front looked very linear on radar west of Auckland earlier.
Would have been intense on harbour bridge!

this front produced thunder on the south island and some flooding rain wellington. so not surprised some damage has occurred up here. what was missing was lightning/thunder but all good. still a active front. 25mm here. showers still coming in

This area is owned by Patoa Farms, there were pigs in these blocks at the time.
They think around 300-400 pigs were killed

Very localized, no damage 2 kms south and east of here, all to the west and north around Culverden
