Re: General November Weather
EC's latest 18Z run wiggles Thursday's subtropical low east over water, dropping pressure to mid 990's with a wrap around lightning active squeeze zone into the Hauraki Gulf. Cyclonic easterlies gusting to around 150 km into the Coromandel peninsula.

Another rather humid night, dp 17C, temp 18-19C at 10pm.
Sat might be the day for thunder here, upper level cooling with moist flow still there.

Cloudy day here with it getting up to 16.8C. Nothing really interesting weatherwize.
Off to Blenheim this WE. Looks as though it may be wet up there for our garden tours?

Some upper level cooling later tomorrow with that trough with the chance of thunderstorms, particularly east of here.

Re: General November Weather
An end to the Auckland water restrictions is in sight, looking wet over the next week with possible downpours. Late tomorrow afternoon looks interesting.

Re: General November Weather
After a couple of cool cloudy days it's nice to have a warm day, just short of 26deg with a moderate NW wind

Min 17.1 overnight must be close to a November record for me.

Re: General November Weather
Lyttelton was 19C at my house (95m asl) and 20C this morning admittedly on the car thermometer, however that is not normally too inaccurate. Certainly was warm. Moderate NW wind this morning driving up to Amberley.
Richard, even taking a little off the GFS numbers as it often gets a little excited, you look in for some good rainfall on Sunday! Slightly concerning for the Kaikoura/Marlborough coast if it's too intense so one to keep an eye on. Sunday/Monday don't look warm.

Re: General November Weather
The 2020 rainfall trend continues for us here in the ChCh, front stalls and breaks up and/or heads out to sea/inland- and less than 1mm ensues.
Hopefully this next system on Sunday / Monday is a game changer
275mm YTD, about 300mm in deficit of the average YTD
Akaroa in the news today with a major water supply situation looming rapidly- and they've more than 150mm more than us this year so far

Re: General November Weather
We need this system on Sunday to deliver the goods, or I am officially going to start getting very concerned. I can't believe how brown it is around here already! I am hopeful with this system, it looks the best odds in quite some time. I am thinking we might get 20mm out of this. Right now, I will take every drop of that!Razor wrote: ↑Fri 06/11/2020 11:36 The 2020 rainfall trend continues for us here in the ChCh, front stalls and breaks up and/or heads out to sea/inland- and less than 1mm ensues.

Re: General November Weather
Back home after being up in Blenheim for the Bloom to Boom Garden Festival.
44.7mm of rain whilst we we away, not as significant as what they got in Napier.

Re: General November Weather
We normally will get a couple of severe hail/ supercells down this part of the country and im hoping that wont be any different to past years however the strong la nina doesnt make it as good of a risk.tornado wrote: ↑Tue 10/11/2020 21:27Yep you guys turn.
