The surface cut off low in the Tasman has moved NW in the last 6 hours and is now about 150 km west of Auckland. Plumes of mid level moisture are now developing over Northland.

yup the CB's are lightning active that are coming towards me
and that tower I saw earlier to my south is now producing good lightning out over the sea west of Waiuku

very heavy rain here and thunder rumbling (strikes are just out to my SW over the water, cloud to cloud strikes so will be in the anvil)

Some cloud build ups around but a dry day at my location so far, lightning and thunder obsrved to west for a time earlier with the Cbs over the Waitaks.
