-6.0C here in West Melton, lowest temp since a -7C back in 2015…

Getting a little colder each night, Sat 3rd, -2.1C, Sun 4th -2.4C , hoping the finale tonight may be the coldest night of the winter (predict -2.7 by extrapolation), even though have 7 weeks of it to go.

Ground temp has dropped 4 degrees in the past few days so that will be helping to drop air temp at night. I’m picking -3.5 coming tonight. Still not into positives yet so I anticipate a quick cooling this evening. Havnt had a 5.30pm ice form in quite a few years so might be on the cards tonight.

Another ground frost here in the open areas along our street, no frost in my garden so far so subtropical plants should be okay.

Very white this morning, down to minus 5.5C.

Running 2C lower here at the moment compared to the same time yesterday, if the wind stays away we could be looking at -8C here in West Melton…

Down to zero already. interesting to see what tonight's minimum will be?
Permafrost still around in shaded areas since yesterday and the bird bath is still frozen.

Easterly breeze and scattered clouds in town, should take the edge off things

-2.5 in Amberley at 11pm, after having reached -3.5 around 9pm.

Lawn, driveway, roofs, and footpath across the street are white with frost, though air temp apparently remained above 0° all night.
Currently around +3°C.

-4.1 at 6.30am was the minimum here, and the coldest temp of this run of frosts.

As I expected it stayed above freezing in ChCh, that easterly breeze went all night. Minimum of 7 degrees at our place

9C in Lyttelton this morning, 7C in Linwood, -2C Woodend and -3C Waikuku - that all being between 7:40am and 8:30am progressively.

Another good frost here overnight but it went off earlier than yesterday as high cloud cover from the west moved across.
Down to minus 5.5C again resulting in a rather cold day with a thickening NW Arch with no sunshine and no wind as a result from the frost overnight and early this morning.

0.0°C here now, white frost. Sunny and clear.

This morning's frost delivered a minimum temperature of minus 3.2C around 8am this morning.

Good frost this morning, down to minus 3.8C.

We missed out heavy showers minimum grass 0.8 C

Another frost this morning similar to yesterday. Down to minus 3.5C this time.

Grass min 0. 9C and screen min 2.5C .Blew steadily all night from SW

Another frost this morning, down to minus 4.1C.

Yet, another frost here this morning, down to minus 5.6C, coldest this year so far.
Lots of permafrost around in shaded areas.

Nice and white this morning with it down to minus 3.2C this time.
