Down to 0.7C here this morning with a frost. Coldest morning of the year (only by 0.2C though)

-6.1C here in West Melton

-2.7C here. Coldest temperature for my urban station since I moved the sensor late 2017 to get more realistic tmax.
But time below freezing was less than other times and followed by crystal clear sunshine a much nicer day than last Monday.

Good frost here this morning. Down to minus 5.6C

Minus 1.9C overnight but went off from, early morning.

Frost this morning, down to minus 2.1C.

Another frost this morning, well here locally, no so towards the coast with extensive fog hanging around.

Slight frosting around this morning. Some ice on the truck window. Down to zero.

First frost for the month. Down to minus 2.7C.

Hello John. How many frosts have you had so far this year in Geraldine? Must be past 30 I would think.

Here in the town of Tiverton we have had 36 by my crude measurements, which is a little above average so far. Sites out in the countryside are on around 50.

Lots there Simon, in our neck of the woods, well here in Raukapuka, north side of the Waihi river in Geraldine, can be a cold hollow.
Seems to be frosty more here rather than other places around the Geraldine area. I have driven towards Timaru and around the Temuka/Winchester area there hasn't been much of a frost, also at the airport here at Levels just north of Timaru.

Just looked into my weather diary and found that we have had 40 frosts (air) this year since April.
April - 1
May - 8
June - 10
July - 21

Minus 5.6C seem to be lowest temperature on the mornings of the 12th and 14th.

Thanks for the update, John. That is a goodly number, 21 in July. Here in Tiverton (and much of the UK), our numbers have been inflated by a very high number of air frosts in April rather than the more traditional winter months.

Down to minus 0.9C around 6am.

Another slightly milder frost this morning compared to yesterday morning.
Down to minus 0.8C.

Frosty conditions overnight and this morning, down to minus 2.3C.

White frost this morning, currently -1.0°C, sun's up.

Good white frost here this morning, down to minus 3.6C.

Another frost this morning before the high cloud cover came over. Down to minus 1.6C.

Very, very unscientific I know, but it sure seems like a VERY quiet year on the "Frost front".
