Yes that Timaru hailstorm on 20th November 2019 was huge. I was in Glenavy at the time but Came back to Timaru about an hour after the storm and there was still thick hail on the ground and some of the stones were the size of golf balls. Another event that I remember was the Richmond/Nelson Thunderstorm/Torrential rain event on the 21st April 2013. Easily the most heaviest rain I've ever experienced 100mm+ over the space of a couple of hour's.
