Came across this picture while searching for UK events. Picture appears to have been taken on Sunday 29th August and near to Havelock/Hastings.

Nice FC.

Bit more info and video about that 'funnel clound' near Hastings:
https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/weathe ... a-downpour
Hawke’s Bay resident Emma Waerea spotted it out her window at about 4:47pm, and it disappeared just after 5pm.

She guessed it was meeting the ground somewhere close to Pakipaki in Hastings, and Metservice forecaster Gerard Bellam confirmed that estimate. ...

The funnel cloud (the term for a tornado-shaped cloud which does not touch the ground) formed over south-west part of Hastings, near Raukawa and Pakipaki around 5pm, Bellam said.
Below is also a screen-grab from 1 News at Six, taken by Paul Smith of Pakipaki, Hastings around 5pm, which I think Dan the Weatherman labelled as a 'waterspout near Napier'...?

Wind is squeezing between ENE and E locally. 16c with a 12c DP. Radar is getting busy to my NE near Great Barrier.

EC's 18Z has given a 40 to 50mm upgrade from the 12Z run for the next 36 hours locally.

Quite a bit of lightning out to our North-West and West, mostly in cloud, it seems to have slowed a bit in the last couple of minutes

Back building north of Auckland in the squeeze zone, winds still ENE to E locally. The cut off low in the Tasman is not budging, an interesting night ahead.
