3 light frosts were recorded this month..
Minimum for the month was zero recorded on the 3 days that the light frosts were recorded.
Maximum for the month was 24.3C on the 7th.
Lowest maximum was 12C on the 13th with the highest minimum being 11.8C on the 29st.
60.4mm of rain in total over 18 days.
One thunderstorm day, the 18th.

Weather station in Alexandra based at Molyneux Park

Minimum for the month -1.9 C on the 20th
Maximum for the month was 25.1C on the 25th
Lowest maximum was 10.3 C on the 12th with the highest minimum being 13.2 C on the 26th.
33.8mm of rain in total over 6 days.
Maximum wind gust 60kph on the 13th

Summary
Warmer than average (night times in particular), and the wettest October in my station records (12 years).

Stats
Mean temp = 15.2C (+0.8C)
Mean daily high = 19.2C (+0.3C)
Mean daily low = 12.2C (+1.7C)
Highest temp = 23.2C (on day 18) - new record
Lowest temp = 6.3C (on day 14)
Total rainfall= 131.6mm (+57mm, or 176% of average) - new record
YTD rainfall = 953mm (-104mm, or 90% of average)

This year's rain pattern has been quite interesting, consistent modest rainfall around 80mm per month has switched to consistent rainfall around 130mm per month since August.

An exceptionally warm October. Wet in the upper North Island and central Otago, but otherwise mostly dry elsewhere.
