Yes, there was a cool NW wind flow over the region today, even though it got up to 19.3C here today, sheltered from the wind.
Basically a blue dome day here, well looking east, but a rainband along the Alps from the squally weather they had over there today.
A coupla of overthrow showers this afternoon.
Should be some massive thunderstorms here tomorrow on the southerly change?'
....or just a few spits of drizzle?

I’m hoping for the ‘massive thunderstorms’ option but am well aware that Metservice have been overcooking their TS forecasts recently for Canterbury.

Today's risk is low. And I think only up to about timaru where a late heavy shower/ thunder is possible.
Conditions just haven't looked juicy yet for a decent day to be excited about.

As expected, MS have reduced their TS risk considerably for Canterbury.

The drizzle option doesn't look likely at the moment despite the massive thunderstorm option, for today.
Sky rather flat and overcast down here with hardly any wind.

Quite warm and scattered cloud up the road in Ashburton but it’s not giving me that juicy feeling.

Surface moisture just to low again today John.

Want a good strong upper trough to come through which there have been no signs of thus far.
Been a gusty old day in chch today but calmed since SW came through

running at +1.4c above normal for november so far here
and with a warm week coming up for here, this could end up being one of the hottest Novembers on record for Waikato and Auckland?

Ended up being a reasonable storm, quite a bit of thunder to the west/north. 6mm here but 2km to the west saw surface flooding.

Today's weather conditions would of better today than yesterday with some unstable but weak Cu forms around with converging winds.
Fine day with scattered cloud with NE freshening this afternoon.
Today's maximum was 20.3C.

Fine day here with light NE turning NW this afternoon.
Today's maximum was 25.1C.
Some high cloud moving across from the west late afternoon and evening hindering the viewing of the eclipse.
Here's a blurred photo I took not long after moonrise.
