been running 1 to 2c warmer here than average for November, the last few days, which is significant, as November is not often one of those months above average (for upper NI), i.e its usually a predictable weather pattern

A generally cloudy and overcast day with a light NE this afternoon.
Top temperature was 17.9C.
Looks like tomorrow will be a typical Show Day with a NW and temperatures well into the twenties, except there will be no A&P show.

Overnight Saturday into Sunday looks humid for northern NZ, general dewpoint temperatures could be as high as 20C.

I think people may be interested in facts and figures rather than how many fine days we have had, possibly ?

Been wondering about the thunder potential on Sunday with some good ingredients around and Metservice is showing some heavy afternoon falls. Thoughts?

I'm not expecting any lightning in Canterbury with this system moving over us but could be wet the next coupla days?
Regarding today, it was a traditional fine Show Day weather with temperatures in the high twenties and temperatures reaching thirty degrees here in South Canterbury. Maximum I could find was Pleasant Point at 31C. Here we got to 30.3C. Windy at times with winds between North and NW.
The southerly came through here just after 7.59pm. Cooled down considerably from then.

18.3C min overnight. Patchy drizzle/light rain with 4mm so far. Could use some decent rainfall after all that summery weather

The lawns/gardens dry out quickly around here being on volcanic rock so this rain is good. Some heavy bursts look possible. Brighter drier weather arrives tomorrow afternoon.

MS looking at some convergence-driven thunderstorms over inland Canterbury (mid-north) tomorrow. Was hoping some heating could get going to get the coast involved but not sure that will be a factor. Certainly a bit of a spicy atmosphere anyway.

Basically 20mm here and still coming down at a very solid rate. Much more than I was expecting.
Is the rain further north than MetService expected given the heavy rain watch area to my south isn’t getting as much rain as we are.

Rain this morning eased away to scattered drizzle this afternoon. Street flooded again but gone now. 22mm to 2pm.

Overcast and wet day here with rain from after 7.59am with a total of 23.1mm for today. 22mm this morning, the other from overcast drizzle showers from then. Quite a contrast to yesterday's weather.
13.9C for today's daytime temperature. NE freshening from midday. Calm and mild and overcast this evening.

The convergence is there tomorrow but looks like foothills convergences. The atmosphere looks to cap off instability around 700mb so quite stable.

I'd be surprised if much happens tomorrow for Canterbury.

Skies are clear this morning with low cloud coming over the hills to the south and around to the NE, the NW wind we had all night has been replaced by a SE, so, conditions look promising at this stage.
