Overnight min of 19.6C here with an additional 10mm rain. I can’t say for sure but that must be one of the warmest November nights on record?

Could well be. Similar overnight temps at Auckland Aero and its lowest Tmin since 9am yesterday looks to be 18.7C at 9am yesterday, which beats its highest recorded Nov Tmin of 18.4C for the 24 hrs to 9am on Nov 30, 2001 from records since 1966.

19mm here yesterday, plus another 8mm of misty light rain so far today…

I don't know why MS forecasted thunderstorms for Canterbury yesterday for today?
Did they expect low cloud and clagg to clear and create instability as we are under low surface hPa readings at the moment?
I think they do tend to over-forecast thunderstorms or 'thundery "showers in some of their forecasts, mind you there was some activity around NW regions of the South Island today and the sound of thunder reported by Richard in the posting above.

A very heavy shower moved thru Marshland about 230pm that I would have normally associated with a thunderstorm but yes any risk today would have been very limited.

The other end of Canterbury - fine apart from being cloudy when the two showers went over followed by the return of the NW wind, max temp of 19deg. Last 7 days have seen max temps between 19 and 22.

Another warm day here with 24.4C. Looks like a decent chance it could be my station’s warmest November, unless the second half is colder than the first half by at least 0.6C

Yes, I noticed that also it has been rather cloudy with the occasional overthrow shower from the west however clearing up this evening.
After the cloud cleared away overnight and this morning, it was quite warm in the sun with today's maximum being 21.7C.
Here's picture I took today looking towards the 4 Peaks area thinking some thing may happen but it sort of dwindled away.

Fresh NW breeze has risen over the past hour or so, and there have been some quite strong gusts.

Sunny, only 16°C.

A rather chilly NW wind today. I see it’s been snowing at Mt Hutt most of the day.
