The Spring pattern has gone, the highs are digging further south now which is early.

Water temperature at 50m depth off Raglan yesterday was 19.1 compared to 16.4 at the same spot on the 6th. This warming in late November seems to be becoming the norm.

Overnight low 17.1 must be close to a November record for my station. I've never recorded a >20 overnight low in any month. ( records since Dec 2016 )

MetService is all over the shop on this. Model shows thunder development this arvo/evening. MetService forecast says showers possibly heavy. Yet their thunder outlook doesn’t even mention convective showers for here. So who knows!

Nothing here yet but could easily get something tonight. Interesting that the convective outlook didn’t mention this. Looks a significant convective buildup. Just no thunder.

Closest station to me got 40mm which sounds about right, but family farm only 8km away got nothing. Sun out today so lawn will be growing like mad.

Greta deal of model variability for those running in the Valley Ultra race in in the Craigieburns this weekend. Most of the week its looked like a norwest prefrontal flow but today it seems the front is moving faster and it could even be southerly rain
