Getting dry here with 5mm in the last 10 days and nothing much showing in the 10 day forecast either. Hopefully good rains return some time in December

in past La Nina's , there has been a dry early period, with a pattern change around or after xmas /new year, to wet weather

As the Summer storm activity ramps up in the tropics north of NZ we should see an increasing chance of unsettled weather coming down onto NZ from the north.

a big high looks to settle in over SI NZ /to east of NZ for the first week of december
so summer is here to stay...for now...
so maybe something after that?

Late month the high center is south of the South Island, unusual for the time of year when the westerlies usually dominate that area.

It is possible we could end up with a dry Summer in Auckland and western Waikato, easterly flow is not reliable for rain here. I'm hoping we get some west coast convergence thunder days.

Quite warm down here today. Touching 26C this afternoon.

Have registered 28C on the car display driving through town just now, right now 26C in Addington. Feeling hot under the sun but a patch of high cloud has just come overhead.

A few hours of steady rain has produced nearly 10mm, things were really drying out, so if we can double this amount, that will be ideal for this time of year.

Steady rain here all day. Street flooded again, Temps in the single figures, no wonder it is snowing at the Mt Cook Village.

Nothing at all hitting the ground in Christchurch still. We have repelled the lot so far but it's looking more likely very soon to set in. Really hoping to get 15mm this evening because we sure as hell need it. Very brown grass about for November in parts.

Been getting a few of these kinds of days recently. Starts really nice then almost the whole afternoon is totally clouded up due to sea breeze convergence

Steady rain in Halswell for the past hour. Great drink for the vege patch

25mm here in South Canterbury, good steady rain all day. starting to ease off to drizzle now.

Been a wet old grey day today in Geraldine with a total of 51.6mm all up to 9.59pm with continual rain and no let up but easing later this evening.
11.5C the maximum but temperature were in the single figures this afternoon and evening.

Precipitation struggles to reach Auckland this week, may end up with a dry week here.
