Good. We are staying home this Christmas so a good thunderstorm would be nice present from Santa.

Current indications from GFS and UK (MS 5-day charts) seem to point to a bit of a drizzly/grey morning and drier afternoon for Canterbury, sunshine later for Auckland/Northland. Nothing wild.

I would have chased Waikato tomorrow afternoon /evening (after Xmas lunch) if the trough was quicker to come in, would have been a good thunderstorm set up with earlier timing.

I’m not home for Christmas but I see it was 31.9 at home today. Very hot and equaling my record temp. I have a maize crop near by the station this year. I am starting to think this might be impacting my temp on still days.
