After a cool start, no frost observed, a fine day eventuated with light northerly winds. 20.1C here for today.
Fine weather looks likely for most of the coming week.

Was interesting seeing a lone 33 km/h gust at 2.45am in otherwise near calm conditions. Wind mixing down to the surface I guess?

Was thinking the same yesterday, this is (used to be) the modus operandi of the local climate, now after this summer at least, it's a novelty. No useful amount of rain from it though, next to nothing.

Today's maximum was 21.6C.
Some high cloud moving in later this afternoon.
Sadly more clagg due tomorrow >_<

Overall a sunnier, drier and warmer than average April here. Grey Lynn has not had a temperature below 10C so far this year.

It has been a very settled last 6 months, hopefully a stormy Winter is on the way.

looks like La Nina is going to stick around for winter
(these big highs moving through the south pacific are enhancing the trade winds, keeping the water cooler than average in the eastern equatorial region (sort of a bit of a feed back system)), yes?

Weak and non-favourable phase MJO activity is not generating the westerly wind bursts needed to initiate Nino development. Hence the easterly trades keep going. CFS is favouring Nino development December/January time, but you would have to call that very very speculative this far out.

Nice sunny day initially with light easterlies but sadly during the afternoon with the increase of high pressure, the clagg moved in and remained for the rest of the day and into the evening. Some drizzle. 15.8C before the clagg for today.
