Re: General April Weather
Low 5.2 here, felt so cold when have been running 2C above average for 5 months, but if it was early spring would think nothing of it. Today might be the end of a run of 156 days without a sub 20.0C maximum.

Plenty of sunshine across NZ this weekend.
A sub tropical low and cool upper troughing to influence NZ weather next week.

My station has made it to 20.1C, official Ruakura site should also with cloud staying away so far. This run could yet reach 170 days or more, must get a wet day that kills it soon though.

Re: General April Weather
After near frost this morning, today's temperature climbed up to 22.1C for today.
Nice bright sunny day with light winds.
After the recent clagg, not used to this brightness.

Re: General April Weather
Yesterday's srong to gale force westerly finally eased Saturday evening. On Friday winds were gusting 42 knots with a period of gales mid afternoon which negated the showers that had fallen .Monthly rainfall is 30mm so we will see how much extra comes for the rest of April. The drought index indicates that drought is prevailing at my property now .The grass is green but very little grass growth so the autumn flush is still to arrive if it can before grass growth stops as winter arrives

Wind seems to be on the turn to southerly now, and I can see some low grey fluffy cloud to the south so not far off.
Now 16.3°C.

Re: General April Weather
Mild overnight with NW winds before the southerly came through this morning.
Rain from then on moving from the west to east, with the southerly.
Rain clearing for a wee while around 1pm with the sun coming out for about 6 minutes with a NE wind change which sadly brought in clagg and drizzle for the rest of the day. It went back to the SE later this afternoon. Today's daytime temperature was just 14.4C. 10.8mm of rain for today.

Re: General April Weather
Nice wee updraft looking towards Mayfield from Ashburton. Looks to be some showers trying to develop to the south as well.

Re: General April Weather
Saw that sort of cloud around lunch time but gradually clouded up from then on with nothing much interesting happening.
Just lit the fire.
Looked like a wee bit of a funnel trying to form in the cloud just above the house with the caravan parked out side. ?

There may have been. I didn’t notice it. Clearing here now so it will be a chilly night tonight.NZ Thunderstorm Soc wrote: ↑Wed 13/04/2022 17:46 Saw that sort of cloud around lunch time but gradually clouded up from then on with nothing much interesting happening.

Re: General April Weather
The coolest day since November for Auckland today?
A humid trough is currently modelled to affect northern NZ from early next week, something to watch.
