Some surface flooding in the South Eastern part of Hamilton city on my way to work, a welcome change.

Your kidding right? More like blocked drains by leaves? I’ve had 3mm

Blocked drains no doubt contributed but some PWS like this one reported a quick 20mm.

Forecasted thunderstorms for North Otago/South Canterbury tomorrow?
Will keep an eye out.

we made it to 1.5mm today, with enough spits lol
wind change and a temperature drop, so that is the front through now
the strong wind ahead of the front was drying things out even more and was full of salt spray, which is not good

Overnight clagg and drizzle cleared away overnight to become a fine and sunny day, blue dome for most of it but some thin high cloud moving from the west later in the day. Today's maximum was 16C.
Looking forward to the thunderstorms southward tomorrow ? I doubt it.

yesterday was 4.7c (average for whole 24 hours) above normal here
17.8c minimum since midnight, so the next 24 hours will be even warmer

Mild morning here too, enjoy it while it lasts, first wintry period just days away. Looking like a fair amount spillover rainfall for us Friday and Saturday.

for sure, as the cold outbreak airmass will be the trigger needed

Fine overnight and generally fine for much of the day. Southerly came through around 9:30am with some low cloud moving over.
Scattered cloud this afternoon with southerly winds easing this evening.
Today's maximum was 16C.

If I’m reading the models correctly tomorrow could be the only day for the whole month of May that we have a chance of decent rain. Wonder how far into June this dry pattern will continue?

and there is not really all that much rain , not as much as the models originally showed
but there is a few nice shower lines, one heading my way
and the sat image shows the jet stream is firing things up in the north tasman and that is all heading our way
friday should be also bring good showers
but record low may rain total might be on the cards for some places

Yes was 15c at 5am in Christchurch this morning, overnight low of 10.5c. Incredible for mid May, Canterbury skifields will be a little worried with 3 weeks till the planned start of the season and not even a look at snow yet.

Yeah and tomorrow looks too SW for much snow on the Eastern Canterbury fields, Maybe good for the southern lakes though.

Spillover rain here this morning and moderate NW wind.

Not far. A much more unsettled June on the way, however that doesn't mean that places which need rain will get it, just that the odds improve.

Cold air is good for artificial snow making.

Generally a fine day apart from an overthrow shower this morning and a thundery looking rain-band along the Alps.
Westerly winds for much of the day easing this evening. Today's maximum was 17.6C.
Lotsa lightning on the West Coast apparently but nothing seen from here.
