Re: General May Weather
I just saw that myself. EC and ACCESS both also showing high rainfall accumulation figures for tomorrow.David wrote:GFS now showing around 100mm here tonight into tomorrow
Bring it on. The more warm rain right now the better.

Re: General May Weather
Looks a bit like the March rain event with intense downpours drifting down from the north across Ak in the morning, see how this unfolds.

Here is a photo I took this afternoon of Cs layer cloud over the Mt. Peel area this afternoon, ahead of the incoming weather system developing in the Tasman Sea.

Re: General May Weather
I sent a copy to TVNZ for their weather report of the news.
Maybe they will put it on or not. Might make a change from the George Empson weather photos from down here that quite often appear quite often on the TVNZ news.

Re: General May Weather
A fine day after this morning's frost.
High cloud gradually increasing from the west this afternoon, thickening on from the halo picture above.
Today's maximum was 13C.

Re: General May Weather
we missed the best of it, that small surface low dragged the rain bands off us quickly
13mm here
over 40mm in the Papakura area too
but I suspect I will get more from the NW later

Re: General May Weather
35mm , a good fall measured by my Davis which has seemed to under-read at times in the past year.

Re: General May Weather
Reasonable spell of widespread rain here this morning, now eased but replaced by a very gusty northerly quarter wind
Looks to be a volatile week ahead, the autumn gales season finally arriving ?

Re: General May Weather
Was watching the Westpac rescue helicopter buzzing around here earlier this morning. Hats off to them for braving this morning's atrocious conditions and to the local paddle boarder who managed to rescue the boatie from his sunken boat...
