After a good frost, possibly the best so far this winter, the NW cloud cover kept the temperature around 1C until the afternoon, when a bit of a NW warmed the temperature up slightly to today's maximum later this afternoon. 11.5C it got up to eventually.
Not much wind for today. Light NW this afternoon.

Windy day here with strong to gale NW winds. 4.5mm of overthrow rain. Mild conditions with today's maximum was 15.4C.
Winds easing this evening.

Correction, that was Waiau's page I had up, not here. 18 deg was the max

Rain overnight and this morning but gradually easing later this afternoon. South to SW winds becoming calm this evening.
25.3mm of rain for today. 13C maximum for today but only 8C this afternoon.

I'm currently at the NW end of Waiheke in front of Oneroa (in the summer months I'm inland of Palm Beach).
Note that a couple of PWS's just a few km further east around Onetangi recorded at least 45mm since last night.

we took the dogs we are looking after for a walk on Oneroa beach when the rain stopped at lunch time today
lots of nice beaches to walk a dog :)

Flooding at the street end of my cul-de-sac this morning in central chch. Been very strong gusts from the SW and around 36mm of rain. Hopefully it eases off soon.

With around 150mm of rain for July already at Christchurch Airport and another 60mm approx forecast next week Christchurch will be going very close to its wettest July recorded at this rate…

40.1mm of rain from this system at the moment.Sill drizzling and blustery South Easterly. Ground still as saturated as it was after the last event.

The wind certainly kicked in this morning in Wellington. Baring Head weather station has been averaging over 70knots for the last hour with gusts up to 85knots! (Via the Centreport website.

Frequent but lighter showers continuing in Chch this afternoon, after heavy rain earlier. Reports of snow as low as 300m near Akaroa this morning.
