It has struck me as slightly odd that there has hardly been a breath of wind here in Lincoln today. Eerily calm, I guess we are waiting for it to swing to the southerly quarter

Just turned Southerly here in the past few minutes, temperature has dropped from a high of 8.2°C to current 4.6°C.
Still moderate rain.

Rain rates starting to drop now, with just moderate to light intermittent drizzle.
76.4 mm total precipitation at the moment.
Hopefully it will stop in the next few hours.

I'm surprised by how high the snowline is around the mountain here this morning, it didn't fall any lower than 1400m.

the air mass that has moved into the eastern south island to give this rain has been dragged down and around the low...from the north...
there was a colder air mass that had been dragged up and around a high to the south east...but that must have got pushed out

This last rain has made it the wettest for over 20 years, water table is now only 80cm below ground, worried about my peach trees, they dont like there roots sitting in water.

Western/south western Waikato, king country are taking a flogging. Blue/red colours on radar there for the past few hours.
