Overcast skies this morning despite the barometer still sitting near 1040. Even the odd shower on the radar this morning

Was a beautiful weekend in my part of Halswell. Was running round the hills on Saturday afternoon, shorts and tshirt, and locally we hit 24 degrees yesterday. Not a bad turnaround from the polar blast!

I knew that with MS's low risk of thunderstorms, or saying "showers, some heavy" for inland Canterbury today, that a return to the clagg was likely.
Excited, it rolled in from early afternoon with a southerly change with the occasional drizzle. 8-o
Looks likely it might hang around tomorrow

Unexpected rain here in ChCh this morning, seems to be a wee convergence zone. Hope it clears before the cricket this afternoon!

This La Nina has been good for sunshine in Auckland but not lately mostly due to slow moving troughs, a cloudy last two or three weeks here.

The expected warm NZ Spring is yet to eventuate, mid way through Spring now.

Next week will be a better week for sunshine for Auckland region after a very cloudy couple of weeks.
Some Cb development and the chance for thunder in Waikato this afternoon, cool upper levels with some convergence.

Definitely in a neutral phase at the moment, average temperatures with cloud and the odd light shower about.
There is a couple of Southerly changes next week, Tuesdays change is currently showing a thunderstorm possibility around early afternoon on front arrival.
We haven't broken 25C this season yet, although still quite early on I'd expect those temperatures around show weekend provided the roaring forties return

Just cloud and clagg with the southerly changes this Spring with La Nina hanging on being responsible for this, with warming of the seas producing lower cloud on each change. It was good when the cold surge came through earlier this month, that we got fine blue dome days after it.

Some very nice back building storms developed along the trough along the Waipa and Waikato districts this evening (13th October), with even now heavy showers persisting still.
