I’m going. Depart 22nd may and fly out of USA on 1st June. Got a load of other dairy farmers from this area in the car.

Yes, many stormchasing friends are happy with the setup, unhappy about the likely jungle location. Sounds like they'll likely be out, but treading very carefully.
Hopefully no long track damaging tornadoes this time, but certainly possible.

Yes Dixie Alley is a nightmare with the dense vegetation and lack of cell coverage. I see there’s also an enhanced risk for Alabama the following day.

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Tornado Watch for portions of
Central and Southwest Arkansas
Northwest Louisiana
Southeast Oklahoma
Northeast Texas
* Effective this Monday afternoon and evening from 120 PM until
900 PM CST.
* Primary threats include...
A few tornadoes likely with a couple intense tornadoes possible
Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely
Scattered large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible
SUMMARY...Thunderstorms will continue to increase in coverage
through the afternoon over the watch area, with a few storms likely
intensifying to severe levels. Damaging wind gusts and a few
tornadoes are the main threats. The risk is expected to persist
well into the night across much of this area.
The tornado watch area is approximately along and 65 statute miles
east and west of a line from 50 miles south southwest of Longview TX
to 35 miles northwest of Batesville AR. For a complete depiction of
the watch see the associated watch outline update (WOUS64 KWNS
WOU1).

A long track supercell produced a tornado for a number of hours across South Central Alabama earlier today. Lots of photos and videos on James Spann’s Facebook page.

44 preliminary reports today. Some long track & violent. Hope no fatalities, but haven't looked yet. Alabama took a beating.

Initially they were not going to live stream the event. After completely fulling both hotels, it's now being live streamed. Tickets are the same price as physically attending. Last year I bought mine. Turned out they weren't unique codes and many shared the code. Maybe that will be the case again this year.

A very active winter for Dixie Alley so far. From what I’ve seen, it’s been quite mild except for the arctic front that went through before Christmas.

I have booked flights for a trip this year, and have spaces available in my car. In and out of Houston via Air NZ, leave Auckland 19 May and leave Houston 9 June. I'll likely offer a two week option as well as the full three weeks. Get in touch if you are interested!

Houston Metro dodged a bullet today from the sounds.
Large violent long track tornado might have happened Wast of Houston TX today (from roughly Deer Park through Taylor Landing). Be interesting to see what NWS surveys find.

The velocity was maxed out on radar at one point on Ryan Hall’s YouTube coverage.

In an e-mail from the organisers:
Streaming
We will be live streaming for Friday and Saturday. Sunday will not be streamed. Those who have purchased a virtual ticket will get their credential information on Friday morning/early afternoon. For those with an in-person ticket who can't attend due to illness or other reasons, we will send credentials for the live stream to all in-person attendees. This year's stream will be on our website, which is different than last year. Anyone who shares their login credentials will be banned from this summit and future events.
Looks like you'll need to buy your own ticket this year if you want to watch. It's US$80 and the same as attending which I figure is a bit steep.

Re the flights to the US to attend NSCS, it's apparent both American and United Airlines are doing their usual overbooking practices. Despite doing an online checkin (within minutes of it opening the day before), I didn't end up with a seat. I found myself in a difficult situation, the app on my phone showing me with an assigned seat, only needing to print boarding passes and check my bag at the airport. When I tried to check in there was another name associated with that seat. Long story short, due to the Ice Storm at DFW, my connecting flight to OKC had been cancelled meaning I got bumped from the international. AA initially said they could get me there on Sunday (3 days after my scheduled arrival time and as NSCS was winding up). I immediately was in contact with my travel insurer (and although I don't know for sure the circumstance, I think they may have played a major part in the outcome), but AA ultimately put me on United, AKL-SFO-DEN-OKC arriving about 12 hours after my original arrival time. I know my preference in the future will continue to be Air NZ/QANTAS.
Ok, for those in a position to armchair chase, pay attention tomorrow, A Moderate risk in Western OK.
