Weed Trimmer err Reed Timmer & I have a checkered past going back 10 (or more) years. Hard to hate the guy, he's so passionate, but yeah I'd prefer him to tone it down a bit at times. In saying that I did get a photo with him again at NSCS earlier in the year. Will hopefully see him & many other friends over there in the next couple of weeks (If the Airport stays open & roads to it).

Another interesting day coming down from Illinois. Driving down through Missouri we were checking out cells & core punched one on the interstate. Minutes later we were chasing it as it went tornado warned. Todays video follows:

We are near Wichita presently, heading for Western Kansas or Eastern Colorado for tomorrows action.

I notice the Artic Oscillation index goes negative in June, those still chasing in June may see an improving upper level pattern.

With 850hpa temps of 37-38C over southern Californian and western Arizona places like Las Vegas are on track this weekend to beat their all-time record of 47C and Death Valley has been forecast to hit 54C on the weekend so depending on whether you believe their 56.7C recording in 1913 this could also be their hottest ever temp which would mean a world record as well!

I wonder if people dress up in thick trousers, warm wooly jumpers and heavy overcoats and woolly hats and go for a trek in the desert in these temperatures? ....as opposed to people who go for a mid-winter's swim in freezing water like they do here in New Zealand? :-w
