Re: General November Weather
Great to see those towers inland today something we've lacked the last few years is inland heat showers and storms.
Looks to be currently inland heat showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday and Thursday this week for Te Wai Pounamu, and again Sunday spreading through the plains and coast simular set up to yesterday.
A very active season finally, I need to bring my enthusiasm back for chasing .

Re: General November Weather
Nice sunny day this morning and this afternoon with some Cu development to the west this afternoon but sadly, lower, mid range stratus moved across from the west and covered viewing of Cu towers to the west. This cloud cover gradually moved over and covered the sky later on this afternoon with light SE winds developing. Cloud cover into the evening with some light rain from around 10pm.
Today's maximum was 21.4C
Were there any thunderstorms around? MS kept on forecasting them right up to 10pm, when it was obvious nothing was going to happen from about 4pm. EDIT: I see they have financially adjusted it, I mean finally adjusted the forecast.

Re: General November Weather
Incoming moisture from today and upper level cooling from tomorrow bring a heavy shower/thunder risk to NZ over coming days from tomorrow, particularly in the afternoons.
It has been a good Spring here for growing. Mild with rain at the right times. I see vege prices are coming down.

Re: General November Weather
Is there anything happening up north today?
MS putting an 's' their forecasts for thunderstorm activity today and tomorrow.
Should be better tomorrow?

Re: General November Weather
A lovely day here. Had a swim at lunch time, mostly sunny 23C.
Check out this pic. Not what I was expecting to see when I opened the weather station panel this evening!

Re: General November Weather
A day of high cloud and light SE. Maximum of 24.3C from sunshine in hazy skies.
Some weak Cu forms along the foothills.
Not quite lightning and thunder potential for today but might be more so tomorrow.

Re: General November Weather
Golly, what are they after?
Haven't seen an ant for years here. Hardly any snails either. And the crickets are tiny.
Currently overcast, 14.4°C, light air, south-easterly. Could do with rain.

Re: General November Weather
The storm activity today will be focused abit better than yesterday and about west of the eastern foothills, I'd expect a few heavy showers through the plains after 7pm.
The weekend looks very unstable after the welcome rain pushes through, Saturday afternoon looks good for thunderstorms and also Sunday afternoon evening.
Simular set up to last Saturday actually with a west to east storm movement, upper air is the same so hail would be around 20mm maximum.
Saturday would be more localised downpours.

Re: General November Weather
That would be a great location for an ant nest, nice and dry, can see there's a lot of larva.
Hopefully an interesting day coming up. just need this high cloud to clear

Re: General November Weather
A rather boring day today as what was forecasted with constant cloudy skies and clagg especially later in the afternoon and evening.
Today's maximum was 21.4C in humid conditions this morning.
0.2mm of rain this evening from forecasted showers, some "Heavy"
