Yes, ground is certainly damp for the start of summer. Another 16mm here across yesterday and today. 182mm in the last 30 days locally.

The humid air has arrived with 18C currently and also some brief light rain/drizzle, should be more brief scattered rain this afternoon.
Tomorrow will be very uncomfortable with high humidity and around 30C possible, also the chance of afternoon heavy showers.

Those magic storm making hills west of Timaru will get good storms tomorrow. Guaranteed. There will be a supercell inland from Oamaru that will move against the tide and it will break things with some hail.

There, my totally science-based predictions for tomorrow.

....either that or just clagg but in saying that, there maybe a clap or two tomorrow if the clagg clears.
Will wait and see
I don't think there was much thunderstorm activity around today, severe activity of thunderstorms have been more severe in the past rather than nowadays when they didn't issue a STW. Got to cover their rectums these days just in case a death may occur from a thunderstorm event, in this age of social media, etc..0_o
Anyway, a rather cloudy and overcast day with light winds from the NE. Some light rain later this afternoon.
21.3C for today.

For areas north of Taupo Sunday looks like the day for a few thunderstorms with the upper level cooling moving in. Some heavy showers for Waikato/BOP this afternoon, dew points around 20C this afternoon.

The sun will come out soon once the rain band shifts off to the SE, she'll be sticky then.

We’re sitting at 21 degrees, 95% humidity and a gentle easterly. I can see the steam rising from the road out the front of my house.

I'm not so sure that anything will move down your way, no convergence happening inland.

We are right on the edge of the MS thunderstorm risk area for today. I’m hoping we get some sort of relief before darkness tonight.
