It would be great to know what the longest run of 29C+ temps Christchurch has ever had, with today and possibly tomorrow as well that will be 6 days in a row of 29C+ temps which would have to be close to a record…

Fine day with light winds before a southerly change came through mid afternoon.
Some cloud forming with the southerly change.
Today's maximum was 30C before the dry southerly change.

Last 5 days now with 32, 34, 34, 29 and now 31 (may climb further). Looking very brown around the city, quite a bit greener in parts of North Canterbury from storms that have been caught there and missed here in the last few weeks.
Metservice just ticked over 30c for Christchurch today. Thats 6 days in a row over 29c. Really looking forward to the change to cooler weather tomorrow!

Its been ideal weather here having the NW as a temp moderator, warm but not too hot, been between 25 and 30, though some days like today have been too windy.

Yes, the southerly buster came through around 7:30pm bringing with it the usual low stratus or clagg and a drop in temperature.
Fine and warm otherwise for today with a blue dome morning and early afternoon before it started to cloud up to the west along the foothills. 29.4C the maximum for today.

It was a good few days to be away in Wellington, where it was still warm and muggy but far more manageable!

Certainly been a warm last few days! Be nice to have a few cooler days now and cooler nights.

Could be a few heavy showers about coastal regions today. Maybe no thunder but chance of a heavy shower.

Another southerly change again early this evening cooling temperatures down after passing.
Some weak instability prior to the change but then clouding over after the change.
Before the change, it was another fine sunny day after some drizzle overnight. Light NE turning to westerly this afternoon.

There was actually a few claps of thunder out by the airport reported around midnight Wednesday into Thursday with heavy showers there, I noted it was dry in the city but wet out at work.
Nice to get 5mm of rain last night, I wasn't expecting too much as the day was warm with lots of local convergences.
Today might see the odd shower linger this morning and evening.

Drizzly rain overnight but clearing away to partly cloudy conditions late morning/early afternoon.
Light winds for much of the day, east then south.
Cloudy conditions from mid-afternoon with some 'confused' forms in the cloud layers.
Noticed some heavy showers around the Ashburton district this evening.
Today's maximum was 20.4C.

Interesting day here with rain overnight reducing to drizzle by early morning but remaining rather cloudy with unstable looking weak Cu forms delivering isolated showers around the district with some steady falls. Light South to SE winds. 9.1mm of rain here today.
18.4C for today with humanities in the 80s or 90s.
Edit Sorry, I mean humidity's in the 80s or 90s.

Some cloud overnight and this morning, but in the afternoon it gradually cleared away to a fine blue dome afternoon but there was a reddish hue to the sky as the sun set to the west this evening. Moderate to fresh NE this afternoon. 25C the maximum for today.
I see at the moment it is quite lightning active in the South Tasman Sea.
