Strange night in Christchurch, went to bed at 11pm and it was -2c on MS and was expecting one of the coldest mornings this year. Instead the NE blew in and it only got warmer from midnight. Was 2c at 8am

28 so far, Simon. Don't seem to be as severe this year compared to previous years since we have been here in Geraldine.

Thanks Richard + John.

Richard - 25 in the two months that would correspond to Dec/Jan in the UK is not a bad number - here in Tiverton in the SW of the UK, the average for those two months would be around 15-16 currently. In 2022, we had only 28 air frosts in the entire year at my site in the town.

There was slight frosting on the ground when we came back from the local pub quiz last night (ice on truck window)but it went off during the night as it clouded over from the south. 2C when I went out and collected the newspaper at 6:30am this morning.
