A warm and sunny day to end off April. Good day to mow the lawns before winter sets in.
20.5C, the maximum for today some Cs this afternoon with a weak halo out to the west.
Calm for much of the day although a light NE did pick up this afternoon.

I see Kaikohe recorded 218mm for the 24 hrs to midnight yesterday, bringing its April rainfall to 9am this morning to 371mm.
Similarly, Kerikeri Aero's 122mm yesterday brings its April rainfall to 275mm.

April 2023 ended up a relatively very warm month overall, highlighted by a sprinkling of thunderstorms in both islands and up to 5 reported damaging tornadoes within 48 hours (9th-11th) around Auckland, Nelson, the Kapiti Coast, Taranaki and the Bay of Plenty.

April readings from Geraldine.
min - plus 1.1C ANZAC Day, the 25th.
max - 23.5C also ANZAC Day the 25th
Highest min - 11.7C Thursday the 13th
Lowest maximum - 12.8C Friday the 21st
Total rain fall was 68.8mm over 17 days.
Total rain for the year so far being 264.4mm compared with 173mm for Levels, 340 for Fairlie and 218.6mm for Twizel.
