Re: General November Weather
So very dull this morning, what I'd describe as 'wintry showers' hitting the windows at times, cool breaths making their way in from who knows where; 8.9°C at the moment and fresh to strong southerlies.

Re: General November Weather
Some quite heavy bursts in the shower just passed, and intermixed 5mm hail stones.
Some sun breaking through allowing heating and TCU to go up.

Re: General November Weather
Clagg overnight cleared away early this morning but some cloud remaining which delivered one or two showers this morning with southerly winds becoming fresh for much of the day. Today's maximum was only 12.9C. 3.2mm for today.
Remaining cloudy through to evening with winds becoming lighter. Today was not as Bleak as I thought it would of may of been.

Re: General November Weather
Again we find ourselves in a position where every southerly wind shift seems to present a thunderstorm risk .
There is nothing really there that signals a thunderstorm risk tomorrow afternoon/ evening. Infact the upper air is actually warmer than Fridays change.
Would like to be proved wrong, but I just can't see anything past some welcome rain possibly 10-15mm in some areas.

Re: General November Weather
Seems a very settled and quiet week thunderstorm wise over much of the country this week. Apart from western areas and the west coast later in week.
Nothing of interest tomorrow for Canterbury, despite moderate risks by metservice.. not exactly sure what they look at sometimes. Or perhaps I'm the one missing the peice to the puzzle

Re: General November Weather
Yes, I can't see much of a thunderstorm risk for tomorrow, just clagg rolling in with the southerly change just like last Thursday's wind change where they predicted squally thunderstorms with hail. Mind you, it does looks more like a ragged front moving across, at the surface ??
Anyone in for "Clagg" chasing?

Re: General November Weather
Fine day initially with some high cloud and weak sunshine with today's maximum of 19.5C recorded.
Light winds between south and east brought in lower cloud this afternoon and evening but not quite claggyish.
Got the truck fill of petrol and the camera fully charged so I can chase the clagg and associated drizzle tomorrow

Re: General November Weather
Normally it is the wind causing planes to abort their arrivals into Wellington, but today it was the turn of the Ovation of the Seas.
Not excessively windy at all (gusting 40knots in the harbour), but it is a VERY big ship!

Re: General November Weather
A sneaky SE wind change is moving through here right now. Still lots of high cloud, nothing low level or clagg looking yet. Temp has dropped to 18.9 C.

Re: General November Weather
That wind would have died out and gone back NW at a guess darcey? Might been a weak surface change.
Metservice should really scrap that moderate risk for the east of the south island.

Re: General November Weather
Yes, went through here at a quarter to six. No clagg moving in but cloud slowly filling in with it coming onto rain here. None of this "Heavy and Thundery" rubbish
Edit: Clagg moving in now
