There is currently a heavy shower line with some thunderstorm activity just west of Northland,Auckland and Waikato.

A showery band passing through at the moment but nothing thundery looking on radar yet. Hoping for some night time activity!

Just had a quick-fire 25-30mm. Neighbours - only just moved back in following the 27 Jan floods - are fearful of what may come later and have got the sandbags out again.

Certainly muggy today, dp around 21C. I see the airport is currently 23.5C, 94% humidity.

So many thunder chances lately but not a lot eventuating! Did pick up 39mm today though which is a decent drop

Some lightning /thunder observed out to the east from here early morning, the storm was over eastern parts of Auckland and looked intense.

Yes a lot of thunder lightning just to my east around 2am, and torrential rain as well - weather station picked up 27mm in 30 minutes!
