Lightning strike viewer

Unread post by Skywatcher »

I wasn't completely happy with the way that the Replay worked in Nexstorm so I've started writing my own viewer.

I also think it might be useful for others to view historical data "offline". If anyone's interested it's at: http://www.templeton.gen.nz/nsview/

I still have to setup an automatic system for providing daily data files but that might wait until I'm using a more efficient format.

It's been tested on Windows 95 (P166 32MB RAM), 2000 and XP but "your mileage may vary" ;)

Cheers,
Steven

I've now updated the viewer with an All Strikes option, the ability to load multiple files, simple time controls and user defined "age" interval.

It's available from the same URL as before (see above). I'll make data files available at: http://www.templeton.gen.nz/strikedata/

I've uploaded a zipped version of yesterday's data with strikes prior to the range correction removed.

Cheers
Steven
