Fine Forecasts

Lately we get told of fine forecasts that never actually materalize The rain is now bucketing down in a humid 16c :?

i would not call drizzle bucketing down

on the sat image, low , warm temperature cloud like this is hard to spot
yeah, there was no real clearence from after the fton
and now its all coming back onto us from the NE with the next low in the tasman

although the rain radar does show bits of heavier rain around

14mm here in grey lynn over the last 1.5 hrs looks to be easing now though..

humm, we missed that bolb of heavy rain here, but the farm got it
its coming in lines down from the NNW :)
(all part of the weak warm front over us by the looks)
i see the boltect is getting strikes in those cb's in the low center way to the NW ricky!

yes, some of those strikes showing on the outer circle are a bit further out in reality I think, the response is too good over sea!
Stevens correlated map http://www.templeton.gen.nz/weather/SVcorrelated.html
is showing a better fix on the odd stike that he is picking up in chch as well, that map is based just on strike bearing..

Yes, non stop rain/drizzle all morning with heavy bursts of rain. 25mm here this morning. Must have been an an area of convergence over Auckland.

A bit brighter now with just light rain, light NE.

I like the look of some developing cumulus towers outside over B'sP at the moment, that's all I say for now ;)

wow, only 1mm here
yes, it was a slow moving line of rain...right over the city, on the rain radar
it has now moved off to the SE

the reason why I gave that 1 was because of a convergence risk as evident by those clouds.
It was southerly in Halswell and Ne here.
